In March 2012 the Swedish government initiated Användningsforum, the forum for usability and accessibility in ICT. The government decided that the forum would last between 2012 and 2015.
The forum’s main task was to have a continuous dialogue concerning accessibility and usability as a quality indicator of ICT. It gathered experts from civil society, the private and public sector as well as scientists and researchers. Apart from president Erik Borälv, Användningsforum consisted of 24 experts and was supported by a secretariat. Användningsforum reported to the ministry of Enterprise and Innovation and the minister responsible for information technology.
The aim for the dialogues in Användningsforum has been to point out important preconditions for usability and accessibility and to show examples of how the responsible agents in private or public sector could implement and follow up on usability and accessibility.
